Press Release: January 25, 2006 LUMEDX Introduces New Multi-Modality ECG Management Solution
Multi-vendor friendly CardioECG™ supports clinical choice, optimizes workflow, and lowers cost of ownership while ensuring scalability; standards-based approach meets IT requirements.
OAKLAND, CA – LUMEDX Corporation, the market leader in fully integrated cardiovascular information systems, http://www.lumedx.com, in partnership with Epiphany Cardiography Products, introduces its latest innovation in cardiac rhythm management: CardioECG. CardioECG management software is a web-based application that enables users to easily and securely retrieve result data and tracings from various testing systems for reviewing, interpreting, and finishing reports. Besides optimizing workflow, CardioECG’s standards-based, multi-modality, multi-vendor approach delivers scalability and information-technology flexibility at a significant savings by enabling heart centers to use their existing ECG equipment.
CardioECG is extremely flexible in supporting both standard and custom formats: HL7, XLM, and custom ASCII outputs are available. After the ECG data is reviewed and edited in CardioECG, it is digitally signed and exported to LUMEDX’s CardioStar cardiovascular data repository for storage, further analysis and reporting. CardioECG handles both alphanumeric and waveform data. If desired, Orders and Billing can also be supported. Key user benefits:
- Supports multi-modality, multi-vendor device integration:CardioECG interfaces to 45 devices and 25 vendors, eliminating clinical compatibility barriers
- Lowers total cost of ownership: multi-modality, multi-vendor approach also allows customers to use existing equipment, thus saving on re-capitalization costs
- Ensures scalability: CardioECG handles single user up to hundreds of concurrent users
- Delivers full Web accessibility: under a secured login, physicians can access CardioECG from anywhere on the hospital network, in their office, or at home
- Optimizes Workflow: CardioECG is flexible, user-friendly and specifically designed to support physician workflow
- Supplements Hospital EHR: CardioECG easily integrates with the hospital’s electronic health record (EHR), contributing to a richer and more robust patient record
“CardioECG takes a truly unique approach to ECG management while offering tremendous value because it was designed with a 360 degree view of the heart center in mind,” says Laurel Shearer, LUMEDX Executive Vice President. “CardioECG is clinical user-friendly, simplifying the collection and management of ECG data while promoting optimal workflow. CardioECG is also IT friendly by supporting the needs of IT managers who want standards-based applications that require no proprietary hardware and thereby allow the hospital’s existing archiving, back-up, and disaster-recovery strategies to be used. Ultimately, in CardioECG we created a solution that would meet the demands of management looking to manage costs and to support current investments as well as future capital outlays. Beyond ECG management, CardioECG advances and augments our CardioStar suite of fully integrated CV solutions that help heart centers more easily and effectively collect, manage, analyze and use data to drive better decision making.”
Jim Stanczak, Epiphany Cardiography Products’ Executive Vice President and General Counsel added, “We are very excited to work with the professional team at LUMEDX. We believe that CardioECG will be an effective tool for LUMEDX’ sales team to further differentiate their products from others in the industry. CardioECG users will enjoy a flexible, multi-modality, multi-vendor ECG management system that posts final reports seamlessly into LUMEDX’ CardioStar.”
